About The Position

Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) is a network of schools dedicated to changing public education in Colorado by providing college access to historically marginalized students and families. RMP operates twelve college-preparatory schools serving students from early childhood through twelfth grade. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (any subject)
  • Within the first year of employment, complete CDE READ Act training or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) -45 contact hours.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Demonstrate Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Confirm identity and employment eligibility via E-Verify.

Responsibilities

  • Internalize, plan, and execute engaging lessons differentiated to meet the needs of their scholars and appeal to their interests.
  • Create and foster a safe environment where all students can thrive and learn.
  • Build a strong foundational love of learning in students so that learning feels like fun, even when it’s hard work!
  • Build strong relationships with families and partner with families in their children’s education.
  • Work with other incredible teachers on a grade-level team, special educators, interventionists, and specials teachers to best support students and learn from peers.
  • Understand the grade-level expectations outlined in the Common Core Standards, using them to define your bar of rigor and be an expert in all subjects you teach.
  • Ensure all students can reach their full academic potential by assessing for mastery and adjusting instruction.
  • Use research-based methods and curriculum to help students grow into well-rounded, confident, voracious readers.
  • Take ownership of student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide instruction, and ensuring all scholars grow through strong planning, rigorous teaching, and timely re-teaching.
  • Build inclusive, relationship-centered classrooms by implementing proactive routines, culturally responsive practices, and consistent communication with families.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff, contribute to school-wide initiatives, and support daily operations to maintain a safe and organized environment.
  • Model RMP’s PEAK values in all interactions and remain flexible and responsive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment aligned to our evolving Concept Essence.
