About The Position
Reports to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics. Assist the Head Men’s Basketball Coach with various aspects of the varsity basketball program; i.e., coaching, recruiting, scheduling, camps/clinics, and game/practice management and fundraising. The assistant men’s basketball coach will adhere to RMAC rules, regulations, and NCAA Division II bylaws. In addition, the assistant men’s basketball coach will represent MSU Denver in a positive manner and continue to uphold the program’s philosophies and the athletic department’s core values.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous competitive and/or coaching experience in specified sport.
- Resumes clearly demonstrate that their work experience describes how they meet ALL required qualifications.
Nice To Haves
- College coaching experience
- Knowledge of NCAA rules
- Must possess computer literacy
Responsibilities
- Assist head coach in coaching team
- Recruiting
- Supervision of student-athletes
- Scheduling
- Game/Practice management
- Recruit Student-Athletes
- Responsible for Game Scheduling (Pre-Season Home & Away Games; Conference Challenge, and Thanksgiving Classic)
- Community Engagement Coordinator (Rescue mission, Children’s Hospital Visit, Unified Teams, etc…)
- Video Coordinator (Uploading games to Synergy, creating edits for scouting; film breakdown)
- Assists with academics
- Assists Head Coach in coaching team (Individual workouts, game strategy, and scouting reports)
- Other duties as assigned
