About The Position
We are looking for a positive individual with a good attitude to join our Agronomy Team. This key role provides an opportunity for professional growth and development within a dynamic golf course maintenance operation. The Second Assistant Superintendent is a key position within the department whose input will be expected and valued. The ideal candidate is an honest, hardworking individual who has the drive and ambition to become a Golf Course Superintendent. At McConnell Golf, we strive to bring in good talent, give excellent training, and promote from within.
Requirements
- Must have irrigation experience
- Must have good problem solving and communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License required
Nice To Haves
- 2-4 year Turf Certificate/Degree preferred but not required
- If you do not have a NC Pesticide License, we will help you obtain one
Responsibilities
- Operating equipment
- Irrigation scheduling, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Chemical and fertilizer applications
- Water and moisture management
- Weekend crew supervision
- Staff management
- Working closely with Superintendent and First Assistant Superintendent to help plan and execute short term and long term goals
