About The Position
WilmerHale is accepting applications from JD Class of 2029 students for its 2028 Summer Associate Program in Denver, Colorado. The program offers exposure to the firm's practices and lawyers through substantive legal work for real clients, practical training, and opportunities to work and socialize with attorneys. Summer associates are paired with mentors for guidance and support and may accompany attorneys to meetings, depositions, hearings, trials, negotiations, and closings. Professional development opportunities include practice group presentations, interactive workshops, mock trials and deals, and personalized legal writing coaching. The firm describes its total compensation package—base salary, bonus, and benefits—as highly competitive with those of other major law firms.
Requirements
- Be a full-time, first-year law student expecting to graduate from an ABA-accredited law school in 2029.
- Have an academic and personal record of achievement demonstrating a commitment to excellence; students hired are typically at or near the top of their class.
- Submit a complete application packet containing a cover letter, resume, undergraduate transcript, writing sample, and law school transcript with first-semester, trimester, or quarter grades. Final first-semester/quarter transcripts are required before offers are extended.
Responsibilities
- Perform substantive legal work for real clients.
- Accompany attorneys to meetings, depositions, hearings, trials, negotiations, and/or closings.
- Participate in practice group presentations, interactive workshops, mock trials and deals, and personalized legal writing coaching opportunities.
