About The Position

Sanofi is seeking a motivated Summer Co-op to join its Process Chemistry team, part of the CMC Synthetics organization, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The team develops and optimizes synthetic routes and designs commercial manufacturing processes for drug substances in clinical development. Its work focuses on innovative routes, concepts, and technologies that improve efficiency, affordability, environmental impact, and process safety. The co-op will contribute to developing and optimizing synthetic pathways and manufacturing processes, planning and conducting experiments, applying green chemistry principles, and using analytical and other chemistry tools. The role includes interpreting data in collaboration with mentors, maintaining electronic laboratory notebooks, and working safely and compliantly in the laboratory. The position lasts six months and requires working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and relocating to the office location.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a doctoral degree program in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States without requiring employment visa sponsorship at application or in the future.
  • Must remain enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the co-op/internship.
  • Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed chemistry coursework and laboratory coursework.
  • Experience using analytical instruments such as NMR and LCMS to interpret analytical data and fully characterize novel organic compounds.

Responsibilities
