About The Position

Our 2027 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-week learning experience where you will be immersed in the daily environment of a thriving global financial services company. You will gain invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments, in addition to engaging in projects that directly affect our business, interact with senior leaders in conversational settings, and network with employees and interns across our offices. This 10-week internship provides you with realistic experiences and information of what it is like to work at Guardian. Interns may have the opportunity to be considered for Guardian's Finance Leadership Development Program upon successful completion of the internship. We are seeking candidates who are curious, adaptable, and excited to gain exposure to different areas of the Finance and Risk organization.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an attention to details
  • An interest in exploring multiple areas of Finance and Risk and a willingness to learn about different functions and career paths across the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship are not available for this position.
  • You must be available for the full program dates of the internship program.

Responsibilities

  • Support Guardian's financial integrity by monitoring and reviewing administration system processing, including the review of system generated accounting
  • Support the monthly financial close by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for Guardian's Individual Markets business
  • Prepare in-depth financial analysis to support various internal customers with the Finance & Risk organization
  • Have the opportunity to work and learn from supportive leaders, mentors, and team members across the organization who will help coach you as you develop your professional career
  • Learn about Guardian’s purpose, values, how we work, and our suite of product and service offerings
  • Build a network of colleagues and have a sense of community with other interns and other parts of the business
