2027 Guardian Summer Intern, Corporate Finance & Risk - Agency Accounting
About The Position
Our 2027 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-week learning experience where you will be immersed in the daily environment of a thriving global financial services company. You will gain invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments, in which you will engage in projects that directly affect our business, interact with senior leaders in conversational settings, and network with employees and interns across our offices. This 10-week internship provides you with realistic experiences and information of what it is like to work at Guardian. Interns may have the opportunity to be considered for Guardian's Finance Leadership Development Program upon successful completion of the internship. We are seeking candidates who are curious, adaptable, and excited to gain exposure to different areas of the Finance and Risk organization. Internship Dates: The internship program will run from Thursday, May 27, 2027- Friday, August 6, 2027. You are: A current junior (graduation date of May 2028) who is fueled by collaboration, able to listen and make quick decisions and thrive in a goal-oriented environment. Requirements
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in Accounting and/or Finance
- An interest in exploring multiple areas of Finance and Risk and a willingness to learn about different functions and career paths across the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship are not available for this position.
- You must be available for the full program dates of the internship program.

Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly close activities and account reconciliations
- Assist with agency/field related accounting processes and reporting
- Support testing and documentation of accounting controls and business processes
- Have the opportunity to work and learn from supportive leaders, mentors, and team members across the organization who will help coach you as you develop your professional career
