As the 2026 Summer Intern – Operational Excellence, you will be part of the Operational Excellence (OpEx) team reporting into the Operational Excellence Sr.Mgr/Mgr to assist the site in meeting both globally and locally driven targets. The individual provides support in the implementation and execution of OpEx initiatives by leading, managing, and coordinating associated tasks across departments. In this role, you will execute Operational Excellence Project(s) following the DMAIC methodology while supporting and developing improvement processes that meet business needs across the organization, be involved in developing a culture of problem solving, and contribute to the overall business strategy to achieve operational targets. You will be a pivotal contributor to the site’s vision of Everyone, Everyday, Striving for Excellence while modeling leadership behaviors in the organization. Requirements

  • Pursuing an Undergraduate Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Chemical or Biomedical engineering) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge on Continuous Improvement tools such as DMAIC Methodology, 8 Wastes of Lean, Leader Standard Work, Tier Process.
  • Able to develop Scorecard Visualizations in systems such as PowerBi, Tableau is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, driven and able to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Possess the ability to learn quickly and apply your skill set to a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Desire to learn outside of initial comfort zone.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, Self-starter, persistent, diplomatic, motivator, team player, people oriented, effective leader, goal-oriented and keen and effective in a cross-functional and cross-cultural working environment.
  • Must be available to work onsite at the Parsippany, NJ office 5 days per week
  • Ability to complete the entire 10-week program (from May 26, 2026 to July 31, 2026) and commit to 37.5 hours per week
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; college transcript required

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. based college or university
  • Enrolled in either an undergraduate (Bachelor’s), graduate, MBA, JD, PharmD, or PhD program
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without a need for sponsorship/CPT/OPT now or in the future
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Must be available to complete virtual interviews with HR and hiring manager
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to start date
  • Must complete a final presentation at the end of the 10-week program (mandatory)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting the implementation of Operational Excellence project(s) to the manufacturing environment and support functions as required to meet site targets.
  • Collect, interpret, and communicate operational Current Condition data and analysis to advocate support and energy to drive improvements.
  • Engage with personnel “where the work is done” to gain firsthand knowledge of operations.
  • Apply a Plan, Do, Check, Act mentality to projects and initiatives to drive moving forward despite potential challenges that may be encountered. This may involve resilience in removing barriers and creative thinking to resolve complex situations.
  • Execute projects with problem solving methodology, using practical problem solving to drive a culture of root cause analysis.
  • Communicate best practices and learnings.

  • During the internship, you will accrue sick time.
  • However, use of this accrued sick time must occur after you have worked for Ferring for 120 consecutive days in 2026.
