About The Position

The Global Capital Markets (GCM) Analyst Rotational Program (Impact) is an Analyst-in-Training Program that is a stepping-stone to becoming an Analyst in one of our Capital Markets’ main business areas: Capital Markets Group (Derivatives, Debt Capital Markets, Structured Products), Fixed Income, Foreign Currencies and Commodities, Global Equity Finance and Equity Sales & Trading. For individuals passionate about capital markets, t his role offers a strong technical focus designed to support electronic trading, strats, and data-driven initiatives while still providing opportunities rotate on non-quant desks. The program consists of three components: Classroom: The Capital Ideas Program held at onboarding is designed to orient participants to our culture, people, products and services and to provide soft and technical skills, as well as contacts critical for success. From day one, Analysts work with their peers from around the world to expand their global network. Team projects, individual study, and social activities supplement classroom discussions. Rotation: Analysts begin their 9-18-month program gaining a solid understanding of credit and trade floor risk after which they begin a highly structured program moving through various trading and sales desks, gaining exposure to a wide variety of products and services. Feedback: We believe that ongoing feedback is a critical component to any learning process. Throughout the program Analysts are provided with ongoing feedback from their Mentor, the Program Manager, and a supervisor within each rotation. Placement: Upon completion of your final rotation, with the support of the Program Manager, you will be required to apply to and secure a position within Capital Markets prior to the completion of your final rotation. The length of the rotational program shall not exceed 18 months.

Requirements

  • You are completing an undergraduate or graduate degree by Spring 2026 in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Quantitative Finance, Actuarial Science, or another rigorous quantitative discipline.
  • You possess strong quantitative and computational skills, including programming proficiency in Python, C++, and Java, and familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and numerical methods.
  • Experience with data platforms (KDB/Q, SQL) and numerical libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
  • You can demonstrate genuine interest in financial markets, trading dynamics, and data‑driven investment or risk analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret trends or patterns in financial or market data
  • Proficiency with Excel (lookups, pivots) and willingness to learn new tools on the job
  • You have a track record of academic excellence, quantitative problem‑solving, or analytical project work.
  • You are an independent thinker capable of analyzing complex datasets, generating insights, and contributing meaningfully to team decisions.
  • You bring strength in analytical reasoning, technical communication, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, quantitatively demanding trading‑floor environment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of cloud computing, GPU acceleration, distributed system, and exposure to machine learning or time‑series methods is an asset.
  • For more technical or data focused teams (e.g., etrading, strats, GAFE, Rates Strategy): Exposure to Python libraries (pandas, NumPy)
  • Interest in data analysis, modeling, or problem solving with code
  • Basic SQL, or experience using databases
  • Familiarity with Jupyter notebooks or Git is a plus — not required
  • For markets focused desks: Interest in macro trends, credit markets, or derivatives basics
  • Experience with Bloomberg or data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau) is helpful
  • For origination & research desks (DCM, Sustainable Finance, ER, Private Placements): Strong writing skills and comfort creating slides or client materials
  • Exposure to corporate finance, accounting, or company research

Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance analytics used by desks: pricing tools, risk and liquidity monitors, market microstructure insights, and reporting automation (Python first; SQL/BI where applicable).
  • Support trade ideas and execution: market monitoring, scenario analysis, relative value screens, transaction materials, and post-trade analysis.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Trading, and Technology teams to support execution workflows and platform improvements.
  • Contribute to origination: pitch materials, new-issue execution workflows, investor updates, and KPI/league table maintenance.
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions and liquidity trends to support trading analytics
  • Stay current on quantitative finance, electronic trading, and emerging technologies.
