About The Position

(This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position through July 31, 2028. This is a 2-year, term limited postdoctoral appointment with no expectation of continuation beyond the stated end date) Work Location: Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Martin D. Woodin Hall, Baton Rouge Campus. Position Description: The Post Doctoral Researcher (2 year) positions primary purpose is to assist the faculty member with data management, analysis, and writing paper; support with mentoring and guiding research assistants and team members; and attend professional conferences, seminars, and workshops to present project findings. This position reports to the Dr. Raghav Goyal, Assistant Professor. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Applied/Agricultural Economics, Economics, or related field completed by July 2025
• candidate must contain strong theoretical and empirical research skills
• candidate must have the ability to communicate research findings effectively through writing and presentations
• evidence of research interest in at least one of the following areas: international and domestic agricultural trade, climate impacts, and supply chain resilience

Nice To Haves

• Candidate should have familiarity with the large-scale economic, trade, or geospatial datasets (e.g., agricultural production, transportation, or international trade data).
• Experience working with applied econometric methods for panel data analysis, gravity models, or causal inference approaches is a significant plus
• have a strong background in applied econometrics, statistical modeling, and experience with high-dimensional data analysis
• proficiency in R and/or Python for data processing and econometric analysis, and SQL for database management and querying
• experience with supercomputing systems for large-scale data processing and computational modeling and ArcGIS
