Inside the Role Provide daily work direction to materials team members within the assigned area, ensuring alignment to departmental goals, safety standards, and production objectives. The Team Lead coordinates manpower, materials, and training to support efficient daily operations. Requirements

  • Ability to provide direction while working effectively within a team environment
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a fast-paced production environment
  • Basic computer skills with ability to learn company systems (e.g., Navision)
  • Ability to follow and reinforce standardized work and safety procedures
  • Willingness to train, coach, and support team members
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. as required in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to operate or learn material handling equipment safely
  • Flexibility to work overtime and cross-train as needed
  • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and strong attendance
  • High School Diploma / GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
  • Previous mechanical or materials handling experience preferred
  • Prior leadership or team lead experience preferred
  • Experience with computers, Navision, and hand or air tool gauges preferred
  • additional education or training a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily work direction and support to team members to meet departmental goals and objectives
  • Communicate company goals, expectations, and updates clearly and positively
  • Promote a safe work environment while safeguarding company equipment, tools, assets, and personnel
  • Identify, escalate, and support resolution of safety, quality, and performance issues
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of documentation, forms, and standardized work
  • Train team members on safety protocols, quality standards, and standardized work procedures; maintain accurate training logs
  • Allocate manpower effectively based on operational needs and production priorities
  • Utilize computer systems for data access, documentation, and reporting
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and program-related issues
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, productivity, attendance, housekeeping, and throughput
  • Safely operate hand tools, small power tools, and material handling equipment (forklifts, tuggers, pallet jacks)
  • Support the supervisor with daily operations and additional assigned responsibilities
