The essential functions of each employee’s position includes (1) regular, dependable in-person attendance on the job; (2) the ability to perform the identified tasks and to possess and utilize the identified knowledge, skills, and abilities and to perform the identified work activities; and (3) the ability to perform the physical requirements on their specific job description. The teacher will need to know the curriculum which is to be taught, plan lessons which will result in the curriculum being taught, and include appropriate testing instruments which will test the intended and taught curriculum. The teacher will also be a part of a grade level team of teachers, or department, and will be part of a building instructional team.
