About The Position

Hutco, Inc. is seeking first-class structural welders, particularly candidates with shipyard experience. Applicants will complete an on-site test to assess their capabilities. The position is located in Hahnville, Louisiana, and is on the night shift. Long-term work and many hours are available. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours. No TWIC card is required, and per diem is not available.

Requirements

First-class structural welding skills.
Experience in shipyards is sought.
Complete an on-site test to assess capabilities.
Ability to enter and work in internally confined spaces.
Ability to manipulate and transport loads up to 50 pounds over distances up to 200 feet, approximately 1 to 6 times per 8-hour shift.
Ability to operate machines and tools essential to welding.
Ability to traverse gangways, scaffolding at varying heights, and uneven surfaces and heights, including between the dock and vessel.
Ability to maneuver around piping obstructions and web frames, ascend and work at heights, and perform stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.

Responsibilities

Perform structural welding work.
Enter and work in internally confined spaces.
Manipulate and transport loads up to 50 pounds over distances up to 200 feet, approximately 1 to 6 times during each 8-hour shift.
Operate the machines and tools essential to the work of a welder.
Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights and negotiate uneven heights between the dock and vessel.
Move across uneven surfaces and around piping obstructions and web frames.
Ascend and work at heights.
Perform stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
