About The Position
Seeking an experienced 1st Class GMAW Welder for a shipyard environment. This full-time position involves performing short arc MIG welding on structural steel and marine components. The role requires the ability to read blueprints and produce high-quality welds that adhere to company and customer standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of GMAW (MIG) short arc welding experience
- Shipyard, marine, or heavy industrial welding background
- Ability to pass a weld test
- Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
- Experience welding carbon steel in multiple positions
- Strong safety awareness
- Reliable attendance
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and outdoors
Nice To Haves
- Shipyard or marine construction experience
- FCAW experience
- Structural steel fabrication experience
- Welding certifications (AWS, NCCER, etc.)
- Experience with grinders, torches, and fabrication tools
