About The Position

Kamaʻāina Kids is seeking a compassionate and dependable 1:1 Youth Support Leader to provide individualized support to a child participating in one of our After School Programs in Honolulu. In this rewarding role, you'll help a child successfully engage in activities, build friendships, develop confidence, and experience all the fun and enrichment our after school program has to offer. This role is for After School Programs in Honolulu. Also hiring in Wahiawa & Kaneohe areas.

Requirements

• Compassion, patience, reliability, and a genuine desire to help children succeed

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, developmental differences, or other support needs
• Experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or ABA team member
• Experience in special education, inclusion, childcare, education, recreation, camp, or youth programs
• Volunteering with children who require additional support
• Supporting a family member or loved one with autism or other developmental differences
• Studying psychology, education, social work, speech therapy, occupational therapy, behavioral health, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support for a child during after school activities
• Encourage participation, social interaction, and positive peer relationships
• Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
• Collaborate with program staff and families to support the child's success
• Model patience, encouragement, and positive behavior
