About The Position

Family of Kidz is hiring and has immediate openings for a 1:1 Student Aide - Preschool (Behavior Technician). This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children in an engaging and high-energy environment. The position is located in Patterson, NY, within a Public Daycare setting. It is a part-time, fee-for-service role with hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. Compensation is $19-20 hourly, with rates determined by service provided, professional experience, and license/certifications. The position may be full-time or fee-for-service depending on caseload, which will be discussed during the interview. This arrangement can vary and is subject to change. Since 1998, Family of Kidz has been dedicated to helping children with special needs, from birth to adulthood, by providing them with skills for greater independence and an enhanced quality of life.

Responsibilities

Assists a student with special needs by providing academic, behavioral, and personal support.
Work closely with teachers and specialists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure the student’s success in the classroom.
Provide direct support to the assigned student in academic and social activities.
Assist with classroom assignments, adapting materials as needed.
Monitor and support behavioral goals, using positive reinforcement strategies.
Help with daily living tasks, such as mobility, hygiene, and transitions.
Escort the student to different locations (bathroom, cafeteria, therapy sessions).
Communicate regularly with teachers, therapists, and parents about progress.
Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Understand and demonstrate the company core values.
