About The Position
Ampersand Therapy is seeking a compassionate and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide one-on-one care at a middle school in Seattle, Washington. This position will begin during the 2026–2027 school year and is expected to continue in future school years. The role involves providing dedicated nursing support to a student throughout the school day, focusing on their specific healthcare needs, including tracheostomy care and suctioning, while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for participation in school activities.
Requirements
- Current Washington State RN or LPN license, or willingness to obtain one
- Experience with tracheostomy care and suctioning
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with school staff and the student’s family
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
Nice To Haves
- Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, but Spanish fluency is not required
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one nursing support throughout the school day
- Monitor and support the student’s tracheostomy needs
- Perform suctioning as required
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment that allows the student to participate fully in the school day
- Communicate with the student’s family, school staff, and healthcare team as needed
- Complete required nursing documentation and follow the student’s individualized healthcare plan
- Other duties as assigned
