About The Position

At RMP, 1:1 Multi-Intensive (MI) Paraprofessionals provide dedicated, individualized support to a single scholar with significant cognitive, behavioral, and communication needs, ensuring they experience rigorous, joyful, and fully accessible learning every day. Grounded in Rocky Mountain Prep’s commitment to equity, love, and high expectations, you implement IEP-aligned academic, behavioral, communication, and daily living supports, including intensive behavior and sensory plans, AAC systems, and personal care tasks, all delivered with dignity and respect. Requirements

  • Provide evidence of completing high school or a GED
  • Pass a background check
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States

  • Experience working with high school students and diverse populations
  • CPI/NCI trained

Responsibilities

  • Support instruction and student learning by implementing lesson plans, providing accommodations/modifications, collecting data, and working with individuals or small groups under teacher direction.
  • Reinforce routines, behavior expectations, and social-emotional skills to promote student independence and uphold classroom and school-wide systems.
  • Supervise students to ensure safety during all parts of the school day, including transitions, lunch, recess, and arrival/dismissal.
  • Collaborate and communicate professionally with lead teachers, school staff, and families to support student success and school goals.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and equity-minded practices that honor student dignity and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Provides trained personal and medical care (e.g., toileting, hygiene, monitoring) while maintaining student dignity, safety, and respect at all times.
  • Implements individualized, intensive behavior and sensory plans using trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate de-escalation strategies, adjusting supports, proximity, and approaches based on student regulation and instructional goals.
  • Supports communication systems (including AAC), visual schedules, functional life skills, and academic instruction by proactively meeting student needs and demonstrating strong self-direction and initiative within structured daily routines.
  • Remains flexible and responsive in a fast-paced MI setting, positively incorporating feedback from teachers and service providers to refine supports, creatively problem-solve, and continuously improve student outcomes.
