About The Position
The Fitness Factory Group LLC is seeking an energetic and passionate Zumba Instructor to lead dance fitness classes in New York, NY. The instructor will create a high-energy, safe, and welcoming class environment, motivate participants, and adapt instruction for a range of skill levels and abilities. The role includes choreographing routines using Latin and international dance styles, building community and a loyal class following, and coordinating class logistics with facility staff.
Requirements
- Valid Zumba Instructor License or certification.
- Prior experience teaching Zumba or group dance fitness classes.
- Strong knowledge of Latin dance rhythms, including salsa, merengue, cumbia, and reggaeton.
- Excellent communication, motivational, and crowd-engagement skills.
- CPR/AED certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional, with a positive, high-energy attitude.
Nice To Haves
- Group fitness certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, or equivalent).
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging, high-energy Zumba fitness classes for participants of varying skill levels.
- Design and choreograph dynamic routines incorporating Latin and international dance styles.
- Motivate and encourage participants throughout each class to maximize performance and enjoyment.
- Ensure a safe workout environment by demonstrating proper form and technique.
- Modify movements and intensity to accommodate all fitness levels and abilities.
- Build and maintain a loyal class following through exceptional instruction and community engagement.
- Coordinate with facility staff regarding scheduling, equipment, and class logistics.
