About The Position

This position is a Part-Time and temporary. Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, and some holidays. Open time availability is preferred. The role involves greeting visitors, engaging with guests to create a world-class customer experience, operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling money and making change, taking food orders, stocking and receiving supplies, cleaning the kitchen and outside eating area, following food portioning standards, ensuring timely and prioritized order completion, and maintaining clean and well-stocked cooking, storage, and prep areas. Adherence to health and safety standards, and correct placement and storage of clean equipment, dishes, and utensils are also key responsibilities. This role also includes stocking serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to stand for 8 hours
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively and present information in one-on-one or small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumferences, and volume.
  • Excellent cash handling skills required both manually and automated.
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must have or obtain the Smith County Health District Food Training Certification.
  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license and driving record meet the criteria for insurability under The Caldwell Foundation’s fleet liability insurance policy.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, or crawl, as well as talk, hear, taste, smell, and reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities
