About The Position

Under general supervision, this role assists in the enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance. Responsibilities include performing zoning inspections, investigating complaints, issuing uniform summons, and testifying in court as necessary. The position involves investigating and addressing zoning complaints and violations, and performing on-site inspections of landscaping, signage, parking, and other zoning requirements. Additionally, the role requires basic computer skills, answering telephone calls, providing general customer service, and maintaining a computer database. Interaction with other departments and agencies is also a key part of the job.

Requirements

• High school diploma and at least two years' experience in planning, zoning, engineering, law enforcement, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Basic Computer skills.
• A valid driver's license.
• Familiarity with the County.
• Communication skills and ability to work with the public.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons.
• Must be capable of exerting up to twenty (20) pounds of force regularly.
• Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Candidates must be able to pass required pre-employment physical and background check.
