About The Position

QB Energy is seeking entrepreneurial individuals to join their team and contribute to their growth as a top natural gas producer. The company operates across approximately 400,000 net acres in the Piceance Basin of Western Colorado, emphasizing a balance between aggressive growth and environmental stewardship. The Zone Operator role is crucial for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of production facilities and wells within a designated geographic zone. This role involves performing essential field tasks with infrequent pad visits, such as pressure and plunger checks, burner verifications, tank gauging, fluid handling, and routine facility maintenance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1+ years of relevant oil and gas industry experience
  • Proactively seek guidance and ask questions to ensure task accuracy.
  • Demonstrate initiative by pursuing advanced knowledge and skill development.
  • Computer literate, including effective use of laptops and related technologies.
  • Skilled in operating and maintaining emissions control equipment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Competent in using manual tools related to well maintenance (e.g., shovels, wrenches, rakes).
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling tools, equipment, and supplies weighing 50 lbs. or more.
  • Comfortable performing duties in challenging environmental conditions.
  • Basic math skills for calculating tank volumes and gas flow rates.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and True Context software.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new applications and technologies.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to QB-Energy’s insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Company policies, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform tank strapping and accurately input data for record keeping.
  • Coordinate and verify oil and water hauls and sales activities.
  • Ensure proper seals are placed on BLM tanks and oil sales valves.
  • Complete monthly inspections and compliance tasks on assigned pads.
  • Conduct thorough facility and pad inspections, identifying and reporting trends or failures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine repairs as needed.
  • Conduct monthly Braiden Head (BH) audits and document results accurately.
  • Perform AVO and ECD inspections with proper documentation.
  • Operate emissions control equipment and maintain compliance.
  • Report issues requiring additional support or equipment to the Foreman promptly.
  • Maintain professional and respectful interactions with landowners and other stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Foreman.
  • Adapt to dynamic work environments, including extended hours, call-outs, and schedule changes.
  • Work effectively in cold weather conditions, including managing hydration freezes.
  • Flexibly support other departments as needed.
