About The Position

Under routine supervision, the Zamboni Driver performs essential duties related to the operation and maintenance of ice rinks at Niagara University. This role involves operating specialized equipment to resurface ice, maintain the facility's appearance, and perform minor repairs. The position requires the ability to work in a cool environment, evenings, weekends, and some holidays, and maintain confidentiality of information.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend the English language sufficiently to be able to read and understand various forms, documentation, files and information in the department.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to be able to perform the duties of this position.
• Good understanding of all rink operations; includes resurfacing of ice rinks and minor equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work in a cool environment for long periods of time.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and some Holidays.
• Must have a valid New York State driver's license.
• High School diploma required or any combination of education equivalent to graduation from high school or other combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities
• A valid New York State driver's license is required that satisfies both University and insurance company underwriting rules and regulations for driving a motor vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• associate degree in related field is preferred
• One year experience performing similar tasks in a recreational facility is preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate Zamboni to resurface ice rinks on a routine basis as needed
• Operate edger machine on a routine basis
• Clean facility to maintain neat appearance
• Perform minor repairs to the facility and equipment
• Work evenings, weekends and some Holidays
• Maintain confidentiality of information
• Perform other duties as assigned
