About The Position

The YR-M.O.S.T PE Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting physical education programs within community and educational settings, primarily focusing on enhancing participant engagement and promoting physical wellness. This position involves assisting lead instructors in organizing and facilitating physical activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. The assistant will contribute to the development and implementation of tailored exercise plans that accommodate diverse abilities and encourage healthy lifestyle habits. Collaboration with other team members and communication with participants and their families are essential to monitor progress and address any concerns. Ultimately, the role aims to foster a positive and motivating atmosphere that supports physical development and overall well-being.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of physical education principles and safety protocols.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, including children and adults.
  • Physical capability to assist in active physical education sessions.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in physical education, coaching, or related fields.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Experience working with individuals with special needs or disabilities.
  • Post-secondary coursework or training in physical education, kinesiology, or health sciences.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead physical education instructors in planning and conducting physical activity sessions.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during activities by monitoring and providing support as needed.
  • Help set up and maintain equipment and facilities required for physical education programs.
  • Engage with participants to encourage active participation and provide motivation and guidance.
  • Record attendance, track participant progress, and communicate observations to the lead instructor.
  • Support the adaptation of activities to meet the needs of individuals with varying physical abilities.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
