About The Position

We are seeking a YouTube Script Writer to create compelling video content that transforms healthcare expertise into engaging videos that patients want to watch. You will collaborate directly with doctors, surgeons, dentists, and other health experts to highlight their unique strengths, address common patient questions, and distill years of expertise into captivating YouTube content. This role requires a blend of content strategy, audience psychology, packaging, and storytelling, going beyond simple scriptwriting or SEO optimization. Your responsibilities will include identifying strong topics, developing attention-grabbing titles and thumbnail concepts, and ensuring each video aligns with a clear strategic purpose for the client's channel. The ideal candidate writes for the ear, crafting scripts where each sentence compels the viewer to hear the next.

Requirements

  • Strong Healthcare Background: Significant experience working in, writing about, or communicating complex health topics. Understanding of medical terminology, conventional and natural health perspectives, patient concerns, and accurate, evidence-based communication.
  • Relevant backgrounds may include: Healthcare marketing, Medical or scientific writing, Experience as a clinician or health practitioner, Patient education, Ghostwriting for health experts, Medical communications, Healthcare journalism, Experience interviewing subject matter experts, Experience working with physicians, practices or healthcare brands.
  • Exceptional Conversational Writing: Naturally write the way people speak. Scripts should sound effortless when read aloud and adaptable to different client personalities and speaking styles. Understand that a technically correct sentence can still sound unnatural when spoken.
  • Strategic and Editorial Judgment: Ask critical questions about video viability, interest level, angle strength, differentiation, usefulness, and alignment with client positioning. Ability to identify the strongest idea, remove extraneous content, and build the video around one clear promise.
  • Audience and Packaging Instincts: Understand the difference between topic, viewer, and packaging. Identify the target audience, their awareness level, concerns, curiosity, and what would make them click. Ensure alignment between title, thumbnail, hook, and content.
  • Retention and Storytelling Instincts: Understand how to unfold information using curiosity gaps, open loops, escalating stakes, pacing, tension, pattern interruptions, delayed reveals, and payoffs. Know when to answer questions and when to hold back to maintain engagement without being manipulative.
  • Ability to Simplify Complexity: Quickly understand complicated subjects, identify viewer priorities, and explain them in clear, conversational language without oversimplifying or introducing inaccuracies.
  • Research and Interviewing Skills: Comfortable researching unfamiliar health areas responsibly and asking experts detailed questions. Ability to uncover what is genuinely interesting.
  • AI Fluency and Editorial Control: Use AI to accelerate research, ideation, organization, and early drafts without outsourcing judgment. Know how to direct, challenge, and refine AI-generated work. Ensure final scripts are original, specific, conversational, and human. Ability to identify and remove common signs of weak AI writing.
  • Ruthless Editing: Understand that strong writing involves removal. Instinctively eliminate repetition, obvious statements, weak examples, unnecessary context, jargon, filler, tangents, and anything that does not advance the argument, deepen understanding, or create interest.
  • Client-Facing Communication: Comfortable leading conversations with health professionals. Ability to listen carefully, ask challenging questions, explain strategic decisions, respond professionally to feedback, and respectfully push back when necessary. Build confidence without being passive or overly agreeable.

  • Deep understanding of YouTube as a platform, including packaging, viewer psychology, retention, audience expectations, and what earns attention in educational content.

  • Research medical literature, competing videos, patient language, market awareness, common objections, search intent, and healthcare trends while remaining grounded in evidence
  • Lead strategy conversations with clients, interview them, challenge assumptions, extract stories, refine positioning, gain buy in around channel direction, and coach clients toward stronger content decisions
  • Review video performance, identify patterns, and refine future topics, packaging, retention, and scripts based on viewer behavior
