Youth Workforce Connector
About The Position
Act as a community-based, point of contact on all youth program outreach activities throughout the Capital Region. Actively outreach, recruit, and enroll eligible youth ages 14–24 into the WIOA Youth program. Independently communicate and build strong relationships with schools, youth-serving organizations, and key partners in the Capital Region to deliver services to eligible young people. The Youth Workforce Connector position is for a dynamic and team-oriented individual responsible for building relationships with schools, youth-serving agencies, and community-based organizations to connect eligible youth to WIOA Youth program services and to aid young people in overcoming barriers to education and employment.
Requirements
- Ability to prioritize tasks, document visits and contacts
- Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated telephone, computer, and written communication skills
- Use language reflective of a commitment to diversity; demonstrate cultural competence
- Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor requirements change
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- 1-2 years of experience working with youth populations, providing career development assistance, or in a related social services or education role
- Must have notable experience in a team-oriented environment
- Florida Workforce Professional Certification Tier I required (must be completed within 30 days of employment)
- Valid driver’s license and an automobile

- Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, or related area is preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop rapport with and connect youth ages 14–24 to WIOA Youth program opportunities through presence at community partner sites, schools, and youth-serving organizations
- Assist with the activities of the mobile career van to expand program reach across the Capital Region
- Coordinate program outreach events with Career Center staff and community partners at locations
- Assess individual youth needs to determine eligibility for WIOA Youth program services and activities
- Coordinate referrals and complete program registration, enrollment, and services for eligible youth
- Provide support services to eligible participants based on assessed need, including tutoring, mentoring, and work readiness activities
- Maintain a database of all customers; keep detailed documentation of all contacts
- Provide technical support for youth participants who need assistance creating accounts on Employ Florida and navigating digital workforce tools
- Successfully collaborate with partners across counties for seamless service delivery
- Evolve WIOA Youth program recruitment strategy over the contract period to ensure enrollment and performance goals are met
- Responsible for data tracking of program services provided and utilization of the state system of record, Employ Florida; data capture is a daily responsibility
- Responsible for weekly progress reports to the Youth Manager
- Implement project management skills, tools, and methods
- Demonstrate fluid approach to work and actively be part of continuous improvement
