Youth Worker

Newham CouncilStratford, CT
£30,745 - £35,533Hybrid

About The Position

We are recruiting for both centre-based and detached Youth Work Practitioners to join Newham’s Youth Empowerment Service and play a vital role in supporting young people across the borough. Centre-Based Youth Workers will be based within our Youth Zones, delivering engaging and varied programmes of activities, informal education and opportunities for young people. You will help to create safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces where young people can build confidence, develop new skills, form positive relationships and have their voices heard. Detached Youth Workers will take youth work directly into local communities, engaging young people where they choose to spend their time. You will build trusted relationships, understand the issues affecting young people locally and provide support, information, guidance and opportunities that help them thrive. Across both roles, you will work with young people from a wide range of backgrounds, including those facing barriers to participation or who may need additional support. You will be passionate about listening to young people, involving them in shaping activities and ensuring that our offer is relevant, inclusive and responsive to their needs. Whether you are an experienced and qualified Youth Worker or are looking to develop your career in youth work, we want to hear from you. If you do not yet hold a Level 3 Youth Work qualification, we can support you to achieve this as part of your professional development. If you have the energy, creativity and commitment to build positive relationships and make a genuine difference to the lives of young people, come and join our team and help us make Newham the best place for children and young people to grow up.
