About The Position

The Channel Islands YMCA is committed to building bridges within our communities and aspires to create spaces, experiences, and a culture where all people belong and feel connected. This volunteer position involves supervising the safe arrival and departure of children, cleaning up the area before departure, reporting any incidents to the Program Director, and learning and adhering to YMCA rules, policies, and procedures. Volunteers are also expected to update staff, members, and parents about program/event/child processes as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance, if over 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Attend all necessary trainings and meetings.
• Report to shift on time.
• Call within 24 hours (or as soon as you are aware of cancellations) and find a sub from approved list when possible.
• Supervise safe arrival and departure of children.
• Clean up area before departure.
• Report any incidents to the Program Director.
• Learn and adhere to YMCA rules, policies, and procedures.
• Update staff, members, and parents about program/event/child process as needed.
