About The Position

The Youth Volleyball Instructor facilitates engaging after-school volleyball sessions for students in grades K–5 at elementary schools throughout the Bay Area. The instructor oversees student participation and creates a positive learning atmosphere. Classes typically last 1–1.5 hours and are held Monday through Friday, starting between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Instructors work two or more days per week, for a maximum of 2–5 hours weekly. Compensation is $50.00–$65.00 per hour. A two-day training session is provided.

Requirements

• Be at least 19 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Have a passion for working with children and effective classroom management skills.
• Be flexible, reliable, punctual, professional, and enthusiastic.
• Have strong communication skills and a resilient, positive attitude.
• Have reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
• Be local to the US or possess a valid working visa; visa assistance is not provided.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience teaching or playing volleyball.

Responsibilities

• Manage classes of 8–16 students ages 5–10.
• Teach volleyball using provided lesson plans and keep students engaged.
• Participate in a two-day training session.
• Transport and set up volleyball equipment for each class.
• Take attendance and manage student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
• Communicate positively with parents and school staff.
• Provide constructive feedback on each student’s progress.
• Take photos of students during sessions to showcase their progress.
