About The Position

CADA (The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse) is seeking a Treatment Counselor for our adolescent substance abuse program in Downtown Santa Barbara. We are looking for a counselor to join our dynamic team at the Daniel Bryant Youth and Family Treatment Center where we are dedicated to helping adolescents on the road to recovery and health. We are seeking a counselor with a desire to improve and expand the programming that we offer for youth. The ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm for working with this population and be interested in implementing a variety of innovative interventions with our clients and their families. As a part of the adolescent treatment team, you will gain valuable experience with youth and families and help in CADA’s mission to build a safer and healthier community. All treatment services (individual and group counseling) are currently being offered in person with telehealth options available as needed by clients.

Requirements

College degree or certificate in helping profession (may be in progress) or equivalent experience
Experience in the field of alcohol/drug counseling or mental health therapy
Knowledge of counseling principles and techniques, and of substance abuse assessment
Knowledge of resources for treatment, recovery, and rehabilitation in South Santa Barbara County.
Ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing

Nice To Haves

Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and bi-cultural preferred
Familiarity with SB County Behavioral Wellness documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

Providing group and individual counseling to youth
Completing assessments and treatment plans in collaboration with client/family
Providing case management services for assigned clients (including appropriate documentation of services)
