YOUTH SUPPORT WORKER
About The Position
The Youth Support Worker provides direct care, supervision, and support to adolescents ages 14–21 in a therapeutic residential setting. This role helps create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where youth can develop skills, build confidence, and work toward their individual goals. Crossroads Programs, Inc. has provided safe and supportive residential treatment opportunities and therapeutic services to empower youth ages 5 to 21 for over 40 years. Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must successfully complete: Physical screening, Drug screening, Criminal Record History Clearance, FBI Clearance, Child Abuse History Clearance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Ability to assist with daily living activities and behavior support strategies.
Nice To Haves
- Understanding of autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support for up to five residents.
- Maintain a safe, supervised, and structured residential environment.
- Build positive and meaningful relationships with residents.
- Support youth through daily challenges with patience and understanding.
- Assist with meal preparation and daily living activities.
- Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings.
- Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Support positive behavior management strategies.
- Maintain accurate resident records, progress notes, and incident reports.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
- Collaborate with team members to provide consistent therapeutic care.
