Our Family Resource Network located in Drayton Valley is seeking a: Full-Time Permanent Youth Support Worker The FRN (Family Resource Network) is funded through the Childcare and Early Intervention Delivery Branch of The Ministry of Children and Family Services and has been created to provide Alberta families, with children aged 0-18 and youth up to age 24 with evidence based and informed services. The services offered by the FRN will include child development, well-being support, caregiver capacity building support, and social connections and support.

Requirements

  • Post secondary diploma at minimum, preferred degree directly related to Human Services from an approved institution
  • Required 1 year of frontline human services experience, preferred 3 years of human services work related to working with families
  • Proof of Membership in Professional Association (when applicable)
  • Committed to provide common sense, understandable and useful support to youth.
  • Basic First Aid Level C with adult, child, and infant CPR &AED
  • Suicide Intervention Training & De-Escalation Training
  • Intervention Record & Criminal Record Checks with the vulnerable sector
  • Class 5 drivers license, clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle for client transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Child, Youth, Family Enhancement Act considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provided direct support, mentorship, and advocacy to youth (12-24) in individual and group settings
  • Develop and implement individualized goals and intervention strategies in collaboration with youth
  • Support youth in accessing community resources, education, employment, housing, healthcare and other community services
  • Assist youth in building natural supports
  • Monitor and document client progress and maintain accurate case notes
  • Assist with conflict resolution and promote a safe, inclusive and supportive environment
