This role participates in the planning, implementation, supervision, and reporting of programs, projects, and services for residents and their families within a juvenile detention setting. The specialist will monitor and document therapeutic activities, assist with daily supervision of residents, and facilitate the intake process for new residents. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, maintaining communication with various stakeholders, preparing case files, conducting individual and group counseling sessions, arranging special visits, and accompanying youth to court hearings. The role also involves identifying residents with special needs and making referrals, facilitating communication between residents and external contacts, advocating for residents, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop strategies for managing challenging residents. The specialist will attend various meetings and serve as a team member, sharing relevant information to support resident cases. Other duties as assigned.
