About The Position

ViaQuest ICFs is seeking Youth Support Specialists (DSPs) to provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. Comprehensive training is provided, including CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications. This role offers a chance to make a significant difference in the lives of the individuals served.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid Ohio driver's license and car insurance.
• Motor Vehicle Record must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria.
• Ability to push, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of DSP experience.
• Experience as a nursing assistant or interest in pursuing STNA.
• Experience for those taking classes or without a degree.
• Candidates of all ages (high school graduates - retirees).

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aiming to foster independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring their health and safety.
• Supervising, teaching, and assisting individuals in all aspects of their lives.
• Completing household tasks such as meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Providing personal care assistance.
