About The Position
At ViaQuest Residential Services our DSPs provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in intermediate care facilities and their homes. We are looking for: Individuals who have experience working with youth , and comfortable with working alongside clients with possible high behaviors . This position is great for: Those who are interested in starting a career in healthcare. Those interested in gaining more experience in the IDD field. Nursing assistants and those interested in pursuing a career as an STNA. Those who want to gain experience while taking classes or those without a degree.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Personal, reliable vehicle that you're willing and able to use to transport individuals served.
- Valid OH driver's license and car insurance.
- Motor Vehicle Record Must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria
- Can push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs. and can climb, balance, kneel and crouch.
Responsibilities
- Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities – our goal is to foster increased independence, choice and empowerment while assuring that their health and safety needs are being met at all times.
- Supervising, teaching and assisting individuals in all aspects of his/her life.
- Completing various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Providing personal care assistance.
