About The Position

ViaQuest ICFs is seeking Youth Support Specialists (DSPs) to provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. Comprehensive training is provided, so no prior experience is required. This role offers an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the individuals served and is ideal for those seeking a career in healthcare or the IDD field. We welcome candidates of all ages, including high school graduates and retirees, and those who are currently taking classes or do not have a degree.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver's Ohio license and car insurance.
  • Must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria.
  • Ability to push, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates without experience (training is provided).
  • Those interested in starting a career in healthcare.
  • Those interested in gaining more experience in the IDD field.
  • Nursing assistants and those interested in pursuing a career as an STNA.
  • Those who want to gain experience while taking classes or those without a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities to foster independence, choice, and empowerment, while ensuring their health and safety needs are met.
  • Supervising, teaching, and assisting individuals in all aspects of their lives.
  • Completing household tasks such as meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
  • Providing personal care assistance.
