About The Position

ViaQuest ICFs is seeking Youth Support Specialists (DSPs) to provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. Comprehensive training is provided, including CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications, making experience unnecessary. This role offers a path to a healthcare career, particularly in the IDD field, and is suitable for those pursuing STNA certification or gaining experience while studying. Candidates of all ages, from high school graduates to retirees, are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Reliable transportation.
Valid driver's Ohio license and car insurance.
Must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria.
Ability to push, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a nursing assistant.
Interest in pursuing a career as an STNA.
Experience gained while taking classes.
Candidates without a degree.

Responsibilities

Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities to foster independence, choice, and empowerment, while ensuring their health and safety.
Supervising, teaching, and assisting individuals in all aspects of their lives.
Completing household tasks such as meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
Providing personal care assistance.
