About The Position

As a Youth Sports Staff, you will be responsible for instructing class participants in various sports, games, and activities while providing quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of age or older.
  • Six months or more of related experience (preferred).
  • The ability to instruct participants in techniques.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications (preferred).
  • Positive attitude.
  • Knowledge and skills in programming, activities, and sports.
  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
  • Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist participants in skill development, game play, and activities appropriate for each age group.
  • Encourage sportsmanship and teachable moments to implement our core values.
  • Assist in creating age-appropriate lesson plans to ensure fun, high-energy classes.
  • Monitor the facility, organize activities and instruct youth on proper use of equipment.
  • Lead and assist participants in skill development, game play, and activities appropriate for each age
