Youth Sports Official
About The Position
The Franklin YMCA is looking for a Youth Sports Official to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who loves sports, thrives in high-energy environments, and is passionate about helping children grow through play. The official will be responsible for ensuring smooth soccer game operations, making calls, managing the game clock, and educating young players on rules. They will also be involved in pre- and post-game tasks such as checking equipment, setup, cleanup, and communicating with coaches. The role requires embodying the Y's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, serving as a role model for children. Additionally, the official will attend trainings, complete game reports, and contribute to memorable game days.
Requirements
- Minimum Age: 16
- CPR Pro / AED / First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
- Attend New Hire Orientation before your first shift
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience officiating youth or recreational sports is a big plus
- A passion for youth development and sportsmanship
- Knowledge of game rules for soccer
