About The Position

Brains & Motion Education (BAM!) is seeking passionate individuals to join their team as After-School Sports Coaches. BAM! offers year-round enrichment programs in STEM, Arts, and Sports at local schools, focusing on fun, activity, and skill development. The organization aims to equip children with the physical and social tools to thrive. This role involves coaching elementary and middle school students in soccer, flag football, and basketball, fostering teamwork, discipline, and personal growth in a supportive, high-energy environment.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of personal or instructional experience in soccer, flag football, or basketball, with a strong passion for teaching youth.
• At least two years of college coursework (48 semester units), an associate’s degree or higher, or passing score on a local assessment meeting "Every Student Succeeds Act" (ESSA) requirements.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for mentoring youth (prior coaching, teaching, or camp counselor experience preferred).
• Strong classroom and behavior management skills suitable for K–8 students.
• Reliable transportation, a valid Driver’s License or State ID.
• Ability to pass a standard background check.
• Ability to demonstrate athletic movements and occasionally lift/carry equipment weighing 20–50 lbs.
• Consistently available during required program hours (Mondays 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM & Wednesdays 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM).

• Prior coaching, teaching, or camp counselor experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging, high-energy sessions in soccer, flag football, and basketball, encouraging sportsmanship, teamwork, and active participation.
• Teach essential fundamentals of sports, tailoring instruction to accommodate beginners through intermediate skill levels.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment for K–8 students during after-school hours.
• Implement structured BAM! Sports curriculums, ensuring sessions are age-appropriate, inclusive, and fun.
