About The Position

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Youth Sports Assistant supports the Sports Director in administrative duties with creativity, initiative, and an eagerness to support the youth in our community. The Youth Sports Assistant promotes programs for youth and adults with their understanding of sports ad recreational activities, inspiring healthy living, and strong relationships.

Requirements

  • Obtained High School Diploma or GED
  • At least six months of customer service work experience
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Sports Director in operations of all sports programs
  • Provide exceptional customer service with distribution of materials, communication with program participants and local organizations, and administrative duties supporting the Sports Director
  • Utilize computer systems to process program registrations and payments, build team rosters, and create jerseys for participants
  • Promote YMCA Sports programs and services through various online channels and word of mouth
  • Comply with policies, procedures, and security requirements of the YMCA to create and maintain a safe environment for program participants
  • Build positive relationships with members in the community and apply the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, responding to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner
