About The Position

The Youth Soccer Site Coordinator oversees the soccer program (grades K-5) at their designated site (Calahan, Leddy or Roosevelt) and officiates as needed. This role requires availability on Sunday afternoons from 12-5pm, from August 30 – October 18 (excluding Sunday, September 6). The position is non-union and pays between $20.15 - $21.15 hourly. This is a Tier 1 remote position, meaning zero remote days per week.

Requirements

High school Diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of sport specific rules and regulations.
A cooperative attitude and a team player.
Follow all departmental and rules and regulations.
Must be able to effectively enforce rules and code of conduct.
Must have a desire to work with children and demonstrate enthusiasm, dependability, and good communication skills.
Ability to work independently under general supervision.
Hold or obtain current CPR/AED certification upon hiring.
Ability to understand and comply with City standards, safety rules and personnel policies.
Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing trainings and professional development.
Ability to supervise and organize groups of children for activity programs.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in leadership position and working with children in athletics league/program setting is desirable.
Previous experience working with children in a group or individualized situation preferred.
College course work in Education, childhood development, family studies, or recreation preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee Fun Day and youth league games.
Assist Athletic Program Manager in supervising volunteer coaches, referees and officiate as needed.
Assist Athletic Program Manager in conducting sports-specific youth clinics.
Check area for safety hazards and report deficiencies to supervisor.
Report all accidents/incidents occurring within jurisdiction to supervisor.
Administer proper First Aid as required.
Be on site 30 minutes before the program starts for set up/preparation and to ensure that the playing area is safe and ready for use (e.g. chairs, tables, goals, sand bags, flags).
Tear down and clean up at the conclusion of program.
Maintain a safe and clean environment.
Attend staff meetings and staff trainings as required.
Provide fair and courteous treatment of all participants, coaches and spectators.
Communicate with participants, volunteers, referees and other staff in a professional manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
