Youth Soccer Instructor and Referee
About The Position
Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is Madison’s public recreation provider, offering a wide variety of athletic, recreational, arts and enrichment activities for all ages. MSCR provides afterschool enrichment activities, clubs and sports in Madison schools. The MSCR Youth Sports Leagues provide participants with an experience that emphasizes skill and character development through non-competitive recreational leagues, promoting fun, participation, sportsmanship and fair play. This position works with the Child & Adult Programs (ages 2+) and with youth ages 3-10 years old.
Requirements
- Experience working with children.
- Knowledge of basic soccer rules and skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- CPR/First aid certification, or the ability to obtain it.
- Understand, communicate the rules and skills of soccer.
- Ability to stand and run for long periods of time.
- Referee/Coaching certification is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Promoting a positive, engaging and safe playing experience for youth.
- Emphasizing skill building, fun, fitness, making new friends, sportsmanship and learning the sport.
