About The Position

Soccer Stars of NE Denver is hiring Lead Coaches for their afterschool soccer program. The program runs at elementary schools in Green Valley Ranch, Commerce City, and Brighton. Coaches are expected to know the game and how to work with young children. The schedule involves 3-4 afternoons per week, Monday through Friday, with 2 paid hours per day, totaling 6-8 hours per week. The season runs from September 14 through mid-November. Coaches must commit to the full season, and their hours and days are guaranteed. The role involves running afterschool soccer sessions, following a provided curriculum, setting up and packing down equipment, ensuring group safety and organization, handling pickup and drop-off, and running a family game day in the final week. This is a lead role where the coach demonstrates skills, organizes drills, and manages groups of up to 30 children. The team handles all supervision, including bathroom breaks and scraped knees, and checks children out to authorized adults. A background check is required.

Requirements

A real soccer background — played competitively at the high school, club, or college level, or coached the game
Coaching experience with kids — youth soccer, camps, clinics, or another sport with elementary-age players
Free weekday afternoons, roughly 2:15 PM to 5:30 PM
Reliable transportation to schools in Green Valley Ranch (80249), Commerce City (80022), and Brighton (80601)
Willing to coach outdoors in cold weather
Comfortable being the adult in charge of a large group of young kids outdoors
Able to pass a background check
