About The Position

The Garfield County Public Library District is seeking a highly collaborative, creative, and community-focused Youth Services Coordinator for its Glenwood Springs Branch Library. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality youth services, with a primary focus on early literacy, elementary-age children, and tween programming and services. The coordinator will work closely with the branch's Teen Library Associate to ensure teens have engaging programs, collections, and opportunities. Success requires strong communication, collaboration, and a positive team culture.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least four years of experience educating children or working in youth development programs or initiatives.

Nice To Haves

Library experience.
Experience working with teens.
MLS or MLIS degree.
Bilingual skills in Spanish or another language.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver dynamic early literacy programs, storytimes, and learning experiences for children and their caregivers.
Develop innovative programs and services for school-age children and tweens.
Collaborate with the Teen Associate to support teen programming, collections, outreach, and services.
Build relationships with schools, community organizations, educators, and families through outreach and partnerships.
Educate caregivers about early literacy practices and child development.
Participate in District-wide youth services initiatives and special events.
Provide exceptional customer service and reader's advisory support to patrons of all ages.
