About The Position

As a Youth Service Worker at Tanager, you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of children and families. This role is focused on providing direct care services that are client-centered, strengths-based, professional, and compassionate. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, supervision, and well-being of youth in our care, as well as planning and leading activities that promote growth, trust, and resilience. A key aspect of this role is building therapeutic relationships based on respect, empathy, and consistency. Tanager has been dedicated to supporting children and families since 1879, serving over 4,000 children and teens annually through various programs. The organization aims to Inspire, Empower, and Heal.

Requirements

Must be 20 years old.
One year of previous direct experience working with children, youth, or families in a professional setting.
OR Associate’s degree (AA) in psychology, counseling, social work, nursing, criminal justice, or a related human services field.
OR Completion of two years of college courses toward a BA in a related field.
