About The Position

The Youth Service Supervisor manages the activities of staff on their shift at the Clay County juvenile detention center. The supervisor ensures staff manage residents’ daily living by guiding, teaching, and correcting residents in accordance with program guidelines and policies. The role provides leadership to staff and residents, develops effective rapport, resolves problems using conflict-resolution skills, and communicates clearly. The position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Requirements

At least 21 years old.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Pass a criminal background check.
Valid driver’s license and liability insurance.
Leadership skills and familiarity with procedures, statutes, and laws regarding juvenile detention and court.

Responsibilities

Manage the activities of staff on the assigned shift in the juvenile detention center.
Ensure staff manage residents’ daily living according to program guidelines and policies.
Guide, teach, and correct residents.
Provide leadership to staff and residents and develop effective rapport.
Resolve problems using conflict-resolution skills.
Communicate clearly.
