About The Position

The Florence Crittenton Agency (FCA) is seeking a Youth Residential Worker to join their team in Knoxville, Tennessee. This role is responsible for assisting in the coordination of residential services and providing professional treatment and care to adolescents. The position involves leading support groups, skills training, tracking and reporting on adolescent treatment progress, and providing peer leadership. This role is crucial for maintaining youth/staff ratio compliance and ensuring the direct supervision and safety of residents through consistent shift monitoring. Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 or older due to age of client population and DCS requirements
  • Possess average and above visual and auditory capabilities in the supervision of adolescents
  • Be physically capable of meeting Handle with Care (restraint) requirements
  • Have no health conditions that would prevent participation in restraint requirements
  • Able to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Able to squat, bend, stoop
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Able to walk and/or run a quarter mile continuously, and/or climb steps/stairs as necessary
  • Ability to remain conscious and alert if/when scheduled to work late night/early morning hours

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience working in a children's services program is preferred
  • Volunteer, practicum, and internship experience in programs/facilities that work with children and families may be counted as relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the coordination of residential services
  • Providing professional treatment and care to adolescents
  • Providing a range of support groups and skills training services to adolescents
  • Tracking and reporting on adolescents' treatment progress
  • Providing peer leadership
  • Ensuring youth/staff ratio compliance
  • Direct supervision and safety of all residents on the floor through consistent shift monitor
  • Closely supervise residents at the facility and on outings
  • Routinely check on clients and complete documentation
  • Take appropriate action in accordance with training and/or agency guidelines in managing behaviors and promoting a safe environment
  • Enforce agency rules and ensure policies and procedures are followed
