About The Position

Arc Experience is hiring a part-time, non-exempt Youth Program Leader at Holmes International Middle School in Northridge, California. Program Leaders work directly with students in before- and after-school programs, supporting social-emotional learning, homework, enrichment, and recreational activities. The role involves creating a safe, welcoming environment and helping students build confidence through engaging activities.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
• Strong communication skills and comfort communicating with children and parents.
• College transcripts showing at least 48 completed college credit units, or passing an academic proficiency exam.
• Obtain a TB test and provide proof of a negative result.
• Pass a Live Scan background check.
• Reliably commute to the work location before starting.
• Provide documentation of full COVID-19 vaccination if required by the school.
• Work Monday through Friday, with an afternoon schedule of 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; one day per week is a minimum day, approximately 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., depending on the school.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome students to the program at the end of the school day.
• Organize and lead homework help, recreation games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.
• Participate in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
• Create unique clubs for students, such as career readiness, cooking, anime, or dance clubs.
• Follow safety protocols, monitor student behavior, and manage group dynamics.
• Oversee students’ safety and well-being during after-school activities.
• Encourage student participation and enthusiasm, adapting activities to diverse needs and interests.
