About The Position

Join the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bay & Lakes Region as a Youth Program Coordinator and help create a place where young people can learn, grow, have fun, and feel supported. This full-time role involves leading engaging programs, building meaningful relationships, and developing skills in leadership, communication, and youth development, all while making an impact in your community.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Enjoy working with youth and being a positive role model
  • Bring positive energy and a team-first attitude
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and emotional regulation when supporting youth experiencing behavioral challenges
  • Can build positive relationships with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds
  • Are organized, dependable, and ready to take initiative
  • Can work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team

Nice To Haves

  • A 2-4-year degree in human services, education, youth development, or a related field
  • Knowledge or experience in youth development
  • Experience developing and implementing programs for children or teens
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Experience leading groups and an understanding of group dynamics

Responsibilities

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with youth and serve as a role model
  • Plan, prepare, and lead engaging lessons and programs that encourage participation and build learning and life skills
  • Create a safe, healthy, inclusive environment where youth feel supported and encouraged to grow
  • Respond to challenging behaviors with patience and empathy
  • Support staff in addressing challenging behaviors and help ensure Club expectations are implemented
  • Partner with staff and families to address youth behavioral concerns and develop strategies that support youth success
  • Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure they are meeting youth needs, interests, and program goals
  • Work with community organizations to provide or expand programming that supports youth success
  • Supervise youth and ensure their safety and well-being while participating in Club programs
  • Support member registration and Club orientation processes
  • Maintain program materials, equipment, and activity areas
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and professional development
  • Work with staff on special events and other Club activities
